Civil NGO: Rights to Protest and Strike Need to be Used until Standards are Met

On the occasion of the World Day of Social Justice, marked last Saturday, February 20, the Civil NGO asked the Government of Macedonia and all competent institutions for social rights in the country what did they do to improve the social situation in Macedonia, and proposed to journalists to ask questions related to social justice from representatives of all ”ecision-making bodies.

Alternative Reports on the Situation of Children Rights in Macedonia Presented

Last Thursday, December 17, the First Children Embassy in the World – Međaši presented the Alternative Reports of the NGOs on the Situation of Children Rights in Macedonia. The Reports were prepared by the National Coalition for Children Rights, in response to the Second Periodical National Report on the Convention on the Rights of Children in Initial Reports on the Optional Protocols.

Croatia Faces Disgrace at the Copenhagen Climate Change Conference

Activists of Zelena Akcija (Green Action) environmental association held a protest action on Tuesday, December 8, in front of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integrations, with an appeal to the Government to implement fundamental changes of positions on ongoing negotiations in Copenhagen, so that the country could finally make its contribution to the global fight against climate change.

ESE Activities on the Second Shadow CEDAW Report for Macedonia

In view of the fact that Macedonia should file the combined 4th and 5th Reports for implementation of the Convention on Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) in 2011, the preparation of the Second Shadow Report gains in importance. The Second Shadow Report will provide relevant information, parallel to the information presented by the state institutions.
