Start of Works in Varšavska - Police Arrests Protesters

 Arrest of protesters-photo-vecernji.hrMore than a hundred citizens and activists that participated in the blockade of the Varšavska Street in Zagreb, to prevent the start of construction works on the access ramp to the underground garage of the "Cvjetni" Centre developed by the HOTO Group, were arrested in the police action that started early this morning, parallel with the start of works in the pedestrian zone in down-town Zagreb.

Referendum on Labour Law Still Questionable

Radnicki prosvjediCroatian trade unions announced that succeeded in collecting enough signature on the petition for a referendum on the Labour Law, but the plebiscite remains far from certain, having in mind the the Speaker of the Sabro Luka Bebić, who will receive the initiative to call for a referendum sometimes next week, doesn't have where to submit it to be checked and tested properly. For four years now, the Constitutional Court has no competence to test the legality of a referendum question, or whether the organizers of a petition collected sufficient number of signature.

YIHR: Problems Noted in National Minority Councils Elections
