International Anti-Fur Protests

Under the auspices of the campaign “Say No to Fur”, the Animal Friends BiH organized the Sarajevo branch of the International Anti-Fur Protest, last Saturday, January 30, to raise public awareness about this problem.

The procession moved through the main pedestrian zone in Sarajevo, and ended with a performance in front of the a Cathedral. Activists from Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia and Austria, and members of the Šapa (Paw) association participated in the protests.

Family to the Seaside - Dog to the Street? Campaign

frankafrankaAnimal Friends Croatia continue last year's campaign "Family to the Seaside - the Dog to the Street?" aiming to raise public awareness about the problem of abandoned pets, increasingly visible during’the summer holidays. Its second goal is to appeal to the citizens to adopt abandoned animals and lowering their population on the streets in Croatia.

Anti-Fur Protests Held in Zagreb

Joining protests all over the world, Animal Friends Croatia organized, on February 28, a protest against killing animals to satisfy fashion and glamour industry, under the auspices of the national Fur-Free Croatia campaign.

Protests for Fur-Free Serbia

On the occasion of the World Information Days Against Fur (WIDAF), the Sloboda za životinje (Animal Freedom) association organized anti-fur protests under the motto For Fur-Free Serbia, on Saturday, February 14, 2009, in Belgrade`s Republic Square.

Animal Friends filed an initiative with the Ministry of Environmental Protection, Spatial Planning and Construction and to Mirela Holy, Member of Sabor, to ban the sale and distribution of plastic bags in Croatia.

Serbia to Get Its First Law on Protection of Wellbeing of Animals

The organization for respect and care for animals ORCA announced the start of the debate on the Draft-Law on Protection of Wellbeing of Animals and invited the interested members of the general public to contribute to Serbia getting a quality law through their suggestions, proposals and criticism.
