Political accountability and new technologies were the main subject of the three-day POINT Conference, held last week in Sarajevo. The conference offered a venue for meeting of regional practitioners, mostly CSO representatives, who used the opportunity to present their projects using new technologies to achieve positive social change.

On February 7, the Safer Internet Day, Albanian Minister of Innovation and Information Technology Genc Pollo launched an awareness campaign for students, teachers and parents about the dangers of the virtual world, finally responding to at least two-years long calls for such a campaign to be enacted by Albanian civil society.

The International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia (IDAHO) is celebrated every May 17. The international day against homophobia aims to coordinate international events to call respect for lesbians and gays worldwide. May 17 was chosen as the day of the event because homosexuality was removed from the International Classification of Diseases of the World Health Organization (WHO) on May 17, 1990.
