The Eko Kvarner environmental association said, in a public statement of August 25, 2013, that the decision of the Government of Croatia to reject the initiative for consultative referendum in the two counties that will feel direct influence of the planned Plomin C coal-fired powerplant, was an attempt to ignore the problem under the guise of “bizarre” explanation.

Several hundred citizens gathered last Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at the „Common Sense Gatherings“ in Split and Zagreb, organized by the Youth of Split FOR Health Education and the Coordination of Associations for Secular Croatia, respectively, to support the Government's programme for creation of school curricula.

After the attack campaign that the Catholic Church in Croatia, supported by Catholic civic associations such as GROZD (Voice of Parents for the Children) launched against the newly introduced health education curriculum that covers the subject of sexuality, Civic Action association (Građanska akcija) demanded from the Prime Minister Zoran Milanović to take a firm stance towards the Church.
