Yesterday, March 19, 2012, the Balkan governmental conference on the rights of LGBT community “Together against Discrimination” was held in Budva, Montenegro. In his opening address, the Prime Minister of Montenegro Igor Lukšić said that we have to be aware of the need for constant testing of dominant social attitudes and the need to face stereotypes and prejudices directed at the LGBT persons.

The Balkan Investigative Reporting Network (BIRN), in cooperation with the Robert Bosch Foundation and the ERSTE Foundation, announced open the sixth annual competition under the “Balkan Fellowship for Journalistic Excellence” Programme. This year’s theme is the communities, and journalists from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia and Kosovo can apply by March 5, 2012.

The expert team of the Igman Initiative project “Status and Property Issues of Citizens as a Consequence of the Disintegration of Yugoslavia” noted, in its last meeting, that unresolved status and property issues of refugees remain a big problem in the functioning of this category of citizens in the countries of the Dayton Agreement (Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro).
