European Network of Election Monitoring Organisations (ENEMO) has launched its mission for observation of the upcoming 2013 local elections in Kosovo.

In a press release, ENEMO announces that it has five key team members and twelve long-term observers deployed in the regions. The long-term observers had one-day trip and they have been deployed at six regions of the country.

The Democracy in Action NGO network announced that it will monitor the November 3 Local Election in Kosovo with 1,600 observers coming from different organisations and added that it’s observers will be also present in the four northern municipalities.

The Kosovo’s Ministry of Interior Affairs launched a new national campaign against trafficking of human beings on Thursday, September 18, 2013.

The one-month “Open your eyes” campaign aims to raise public awareness on the issue of trafficking of human beings.

The campaign targets children, youths and women who are victims or potential victims of sexual and labour abuse, Telegrafi.com portal reports.

Eighteen women, members of the Serbian women’s parliamentary network and of the Assembly of Kosovo women’s caucus, as well as female representatives of other decision-making institutions and women leaders from academia, civil society and media came together in an OSCE-facilitated meeting in Budva, Montenegro, to exchange experiences and identify joint initiatives to foster women’s empowerment in all sectors of society.

The LGBT community is threatened by the rest of Kosovo’s society, Kosovo daily Tribuna reports. According to the daily, this is the conclusion of a research conducted by “GBC/Prishtinë” organisation.

The research found interesting data about the position of the LGBT in Kosovo’s society. It has evidenced a high scale of harsh reactions against the members of this community.
