The Organizing Committee of Zagreb Pride 2008 condemned the attacks on gay activists Kristijan Grđana and Sanja Juras and three participants who came to the Pride from Kosovo, expressing their full solidarity and support for the victims.

On the occasion of the sanctions of Croatian Football Association (HNS) because of the racist and xenophobic incidents involving some Croatian fans during the recently completed European Championship, the Centre for Peace Studies (CMS) said that HNS should do more, since it has the power and responsibility for such an action.

A group of gay internet users noted that the Croatian internet space lacks a common starting point for homosexual men and women, bisexual, trans-gender and queer persons to get information and to get active, so they decided to launch a new internet portal to mark the Pride Week in Zagreb.

Zelena Akcija (Green Action) environmental organization reacted to the announced cooperation of Cardinal Bozanić and Mayor Milan Bandic, on five different projects. Zelena Akcija focused on two of the projects – plans to build 2,500 apartments in developments in Strug on Žitnjak and the proposed Museum of Sacral Art in Nova Vesa.

The Zelena akcija (Green Action) environmental associations comments that the Government of Croatia is increasingly inclined to support the estimates of Croatian Power Company HEP and the energy lobby that Croatia needs to build a nuclear power station, at a moment when we learn that global uranium reserves will suffice for another hundred years or so.

The Centre for Peace Studies joined the condemnations of the attacks on Lukač - Koritinik and Miljuš. Gordan Bosanac, CMS Programme Coordinator, says that any use of physical force and other forms of violence against persons who have dedicated their work to fight discrimination of vulnerable groups and individuals, or fight organized crime, are worrying developments.
