Srđan Dizdarević, President of Bosnian Helsinki Committee for Human Rights, responded, in an open letter addressed to the highest institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to the invitation by Safet Halilović, Minister of Refugees and Human Rights, to take part in the Seminar on the proposed theses for preparation of the Anti-Discrimination Law.

The Alter Art youth organization from Travnik faced total shut-down of its activities, after it got notice from the Travnik Municipal Cultural Centre to leave the premises of the Internet Club in 10 days time. The Internet Club is the only source of financing for Alter Art`s activities.

In its 20th Session of May 9, 2008, the National Parliament of the Republic of Srpska adopted the Draft-Law on Volunteering. The Draft will not be submitted for public debate, and the final Draft should be addopted in September or October this year.

From May 15 to May 18, Italian city of Bolzano/Bozen, the province of Alto Adige/Sud Tyrol, hosted a group of young people from Prijedor, Srebrenica, Bratunac in BiH and Peć/Peja in Kosovo, under the auspices of the Adopt Srebrenica project, initiative implemeted by Tuzla based organization Amica and the Alexander Langer Foundation from Bolzano/Bozen.

On Tuesday, May 27, the Delegation of the European Commission in BiH (DEC) held the first consulting meeting with representatives of civil society on the preparation 2008 Progress Report for Bosnia and Herzegovina. A great number of CSO representatives participated in the meeting and demonstrated great interest in the preparation of the Report.

Graduation Ceremony of the 1st Generation of 88 students of United World College (UWC) in Mostar will take place on May 29, 2008 at 11 am in Herceg Stjepan Kosača Centre in Mostar. Students of the first generation who come from all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina and 18 countries from all around the world have spent last 2 years in Mostar attending the International Baccalaureate(IB) programme at UWCiM.

If they had an opportunity, 57 percent of the youth population in Bosnia and Herzegovina would leave the country for seasonal work abroad; 49 percent would go out to study; 48 would move permanently abroad; - show the results of the survey Analysis of Status of Youth and Youth Sector in BiH, conducted by the Commission for Coordination of Youth Issues in BiH, on a sample of 1,500 citizens between the ages of 16 and 30.
