The Humanitarian Law Centre (HLC) warns of the increasing pressure on the Council of the Special Department of the Belgrade District Court that hears the Djindjic assassination trial. Most pressure is put on presiding Judge Marko Kljajevic, which coincides with the announced completion of the presentation of evidence.

Sonja Biserko, President of the Helsinki Committee for Human Rights in Serbia, estimates that the sentences for the war crimes committed in Ovcara, near Vukovar, were adequate, having in mind that the maximum sentence at that period of time was 20 year in prison.

Last Tuesday, December 6, the Swiss Agency for Cooperation and Development officially launched the “Together in the Fight Against Domestic Violence” campaign. The campaign will be implemented by the end of 2005, and is a part of the “Police Community Work” project.

The 6th International “One World” Festival of Human Rights Documentary Films was opened on Monday, December 5, at the ABC1 Cinema in Pristina. The Festival is organized by the Council for the Defense of Human Rights and Freedoms – CDHRF.

Fondacija CURE Sarajevo realizira kampanju 16. dana aktivizma protiv nasilja na osnovu roda/spola u Bosni i Hercegovini. Yesterday, November 30, the EU announced the start of a nationwide campaign to support youth activities and promote tolerance in Macedonia under the banner “together for youth”. The EU will provide €900,000 over the next 18 months for the project, which is managed by the European Agency for Reconstruction.
