Several hundred members of Roma NGOs, political parties and Roma Minority National Council gathered last Saturday, September 4, at the Park of the Pioneers in Belgrade, joining similar protests against French Government's policies towards the Roma population that were held in Paris, Vienna, Rome and Budapest.

Teofil PancicTeofil Pančić, journalist, columnist and literary critic of the weekly magazine "Vreme" was attacked and severely beaten by two assailants, in a public bus in Belgrade. The assailants used metal bars and Pančić suffered head contusions and bruises on his left arm, and was treated for his injuries at “Zemun” Clinical Hospital.

The Centre for Development of Civil Society (CDCS) demand from the Provincial Secretariat for Regulations, Administration and National Minorities of Vojvodina to stop ignoring the recommendations of Vojvodina Ombudsman to put an end to the discrimination of churches of smaller religious communities and allow them equal opportunities in competitions for funding from the Provincial Budget.

Croatian President Ivo Josipović met, under the auspices of his official visit to Serbia, with the representatives of several NGOs on July 19, at the Humanitarian Law Centre in Belgrade, and discussed normalization of relations and life and new strategies and policies towards the past and the future of post-Yugoslav countries.
