Coalition of the Kosovo nongovernmental organizations “Democracy in Action” presented its initiative to monitor 2009 local elections. Coalition representatives said that it also plans to monitor the work of the Central Election Commission (CEC).

“Once again, we addressed a letter to CEC to allow us to monitor its work and we hope that this time we will manage to get a positive reply for this call”, stated Coalition’s representative Driton Tafallari.

Mentioning deficiencies and irregularities that occurred during the last elections, “Democracy in Action” representatives demanded that voters’ education starts earlier and in this regard to have specific programs for various marginalized groups.
